Another union member still in custody since his arrest on December the 3rd!

Osanloo was expected to be released on bail, but his family opposed the bail condition!

December 6, 2006- According to the latest information provided by the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company (Sherkat-e Vahed), two members of the Board of Directors of the Syndicate, Seyed Davoud Razavi and Abdolreza Tarazi, who were arrested at 2:00 PM, December 3, 2006, by the security police officers from the police station division 6, were released the same day at 9:30 PM after their colleagues agreed to submit their ID cards as surety for their return to the police station the following day. Razavi and Tarazi returned o the same police station on December 4th, but faced no charges and were told that they were free to go.

On December 3, 2006, Mr. Gholamreza Gholamhosseini, a member of the Syndicate and one of the 50 suspended employees of the company, was also arrested at 8:00 PM in a different location, Area 6 of the Tehran’s Vahed bus services. Mr. Gholamreza Gholamhosseini is still in custody at the Tehran’s Police Station No. 2 and no charges have so far been made against him. His family has been told that they should return to court on Sunday, December 10, 2006.

The lawyers for Mr. Mansour Osanloo, the President of the board of the union, had been negotiating with authorities to secure Osanloo’s release. They were told that Osanloo could be released on Tuesday, December 5th; however, the Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Tehran decided to demand a 30 million Toman (About US$33,000) bail as the condition for Osanloo’s release. Osanloo’s family, including his wife, mother and brother, opposed the bail condition. Osanloo is already on a very heavy 150 million Toman bail, and his family was not willing or able to accept another hefty amount on top of his first bail. As of the end of December 5, 2006, Osanloo still remained in prison, but his lawyers are nevertheless in the process of negotiating with authorities for his release.
