Madadi Freed; Dehghan released on bail

Osanloo and Salehi still in Jail!

 

December 17, 2007- According to the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, Mr. Ebrahim Madadi, vice president of the Syndicate, was released on Sunday, December 16, 2007. Madadi was charged with “acting against national security by gathering outside Mansour Osanloo’s residence”. According to his lawyer, Mr. Parviz Khorshid, Madadi has been acquitted of this charge. He however spent more than 4 months, since August 9th, totally unjustly in jail for these charges.

 

Other news reported by Solidarity Committee with Iranian Workers-Australia indicate that Mr. Reza Dehghan, a member of the Founding Committee of the Syndicate of Building 's Painters and Decoration's  Workers, has been released on 50,000,000 toman bail. Mr. Dehghan was arrested and incarcerated since November 18, 2007.

 

About Osanloo’s case, Mr. Khorshid has told semi-official news agencies in Iran that Osanloo’s sentence of 5 years imprisonment has been the final verdict. Osanloo has been suffering health problems, particularly after his eye surgery. Mr. Khorshid, along with Mr. Molayee, other lawyer for Osanloo, have been working on a formal complaint against the process and procedures that led to this unjust sentence against Osanloo. They will submit this complaint to the head of Iran’s judiciary, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi,

 

According to the Committee in Defence f Mahmoud Salehi, Mr. Salehi was taken back to Sanandaj’s prison on December 16th from Tohid Hospital despite being extremely ill. He had fallen unconscious twice yesterday and been fainting almost everyday lately. Salehi’s family and colleagues in ran are calling for his immediate release in order to save his life.
