Osanloo Sentenced To 5 Years Imprisonment!

Salehi’s Health is Worsening!

 

May 28, 2007- Tehran revolutionary Court, Branch 14, have issued a prison sentence of five years against Mr. Mansour Osanloo, the president of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company. According to the ILNA and roozna.com, the presiding judge of the above court has sentenced Osanloo to 4 years imprisonment for “acting against national security” and one year for “propaganda against the system” for the total of five years jail sentence. According to Mr. Khorshid, Osanloo’s lawyer, the verdict has been given on the phone to the Osanloo’s other lawyer, Mr. Molayee but no official verdict has yet been given to Osanloo or his lawyers. Osanloo and his lawyers will have 20 days to appeal the verdict.

 

 

Updates on Mahmoud Salehi, Amani and Karimi:

 

Mahmoud Salehi spoke with his wife, Najibeh Salehzadeh on Monday, May 28, 2007, during which he informed her that his physical health is worsening seriously and his kidney problem is becoming extremely painful and his blood pressure has fallen considerably.  Salehi has asked for an urgent response to address his health problems.

 

Salehi’s family and the campaign in defense of Salehi in Iran have requested all workers in Iran and other countries to continue advocating for Salehi’s immediate freedom. They have also asked to send all protest letters to the head of the Judiciary as well.

 

Sheys Amani and Sedigh Karimi continue to be incarcerated, now in the intelligent department of Sanandaj, and there are no updates yet on their cases. They have no visitation rights and their families have not been able to visit them since they were arrested following the May Day rally in Sanandaj this year.
