**Mr. Reza Dehghan, a labour activist and a member of the Founding Committee of the Syndicate of Building 's Painters and Decoration's  Workers have been arrested and incarcerated since November 18, 2007. The following letter to international labour organization has been sent by the founding Committee on November 25, 2007.

This is to inform you that Reza Dehghan, labor activist and founding member of painters union in Iran has been detained by the Iranian security forces with no regard to legal procedures without producing any court summon nor informing him, his family or any one about his charges.

Since his detention on 19 Nov 2007 till this date none of the responsible authorities have responded about the reason of his imprisonment and even his parents were not permitted to visit him in Evin prison.

Reza Dehghan is one of the young activists who has spared no effort to establish an independent syndicate. On the recent visit of ITUC & ITF representative, Mr. Hanafi rostandi, to Iran, Reza Dehghan was present in most of the meetings.

Reza Dehghan is a close companion of Osanloo and Madadi, members of Tehran Bus Drivers Syndicate, whom absence among the Iranian labor movement has brought great sorrow to all of us.

We ask for your help by any humanly way and mean to free Reza Dehghan and all other labor activists.

Signed by: Founding Committee of Painters Union

                                Date: 25 November 2007
