May 17 – International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

The IUF today joins with all those celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

Last year, the IUF held its first-ever conference of LBTI workers in connection with our world congress, which mandated the IUF to establish a committee of LGBTI workers and allies to take forward our commitment to equality for all. Since then, efforts to advance our defense of LGBTI workers has moved forward as we take the discussion into all our statutory meetings, our regions, our sector divisions and our company work, where we call on management to provide concrete information on what they are doing to insure an LGBTI-inclusive and safe workplace for all. The first meeting of the LGBTI Workers and Allies working group established at the Congress will meet later this year.
