Peterborough VON home care staff reach tentative contract

A fruitful day of mediation on Monday, June 10 has resulted in a new tentative collective agreement between home care and other health staff who are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 4419 and the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Peterborough/Victoria/Haliburton.

“That the two parties have reached a tentative contract means that once our members ratify the new deal, the medically vulnerable patients who receive care from us and our agency, will continue to benefit from the quality care and supports we provide,” says Meagan Kempenaar, CUPE 4419 president.

A contract ratification vote is slated for Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2 pm and 6 pm.
